**Basic Recipe**: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, cream together 1 cup of softened butter, 3/4 cup sugar, and 3/4 cup brown sugar. Add in 1 teaspoon of vanilla and 2 eggs, mixing well. Then, combine 2 1/4 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and a pinch of salt in another bowl. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ones, then fold in 2 cups of chocolate chips. Scoop onto a baking sheet and bake for about 10-12 minutes. Let them cool, and enjoy!

**Chewy Version**: For chewier cookies, use more brown sugar than white sugar. Follow the same steps as above, but use 1 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 cup of white sugar. You can also chill the dough for about 30 minutes before baking to enhance the chewiness. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes. They’ll come out soft and delicious!
