"If you're diving into modern art, you can't miss 'The Story of Art' by E.H. Gombrich. It's a classic and really breaks down the evolution of art in a way that's super easy to grasp. Another must-read is 'Ways of Seeing' by John Berger; it totally changes how you look at art!"

"For a solid foundation in modern art, I'd recommend 'Modern Art: 1851 to 1929' by David Green and Joanna Lowry. It's packed with great insights. Also, check out 'Art Since 1900' by Hal Foster and others. It's a bit dense but really insightful if you want to get into the nitty-gritty."

"You should definitely check out 'The Shock of the New' by Robert Hughes. It’s a fantastic read that covers the major movements and artists. And if you're into a more personal perspective, 'Just Kids' by Patti Smith gives a beautiful glimpse into the art scene in New York."
