**The Touch Test**: You can use your finger to press on the steak. If it feels soft and squishy, it’s rare. If it’s slightly firmer, it’s medium. For well-done, it’ll feel pretty tough. With practice, you’ll get the hang of it!

**Using a Meat Thermometer**: This is probably the most reliable way. For medium-rare, you want it to hit about 130-135°F (54-57°C). For medium, aim for 140-145°F (60-63°C). Just pop that thermometer in the thickest part of the steak, and you’ll know for sure!
