"Honestly, the best trick I've found is to chill the onion in the fridge for a bit before chopping it. It really helps reduce the tears! Plus, cutting it under running water works too, but that can get a bit messy."

"I usually wear goggles when I chop onions! Sounds silly, but it totally works. If you don’t have goggles, just try cutting it near a fan or something to blow the fumes away from your eyes."

"One of my friends swears by cutting the onion with a sharp knife. Apparently, a sharp knife makes cleaner cuts and releases fewer of those tear-inducing compounds. Give it a shot!"

"You could also try cutting the root end last. That part has the most sulfur compounds, so if you save it for last, you might avoid some of the tears. Or just embrace the tears and make it a dramatic cooking moment!"
