**Visual Inspection**: First off, pop the hood and take a good look at the battery. Check for any corrosion around the terminals (that white, powdery stuff) and make sure the connections are tight. If you see any cracks or leaks, it might be time for a new one.

**Use a Multimeter**: If you’ve got a multimeter lying around, you can use it to check the voltage. Just set it to 20 DC volts, touch the red probe to the positive terminal and the black probe to the negative terminal. A healthy battery should read around 12.6 volts or more when the car is off. If it’s below 12.4, it might be losing its juice.
